Johan Janssens and Jeanot Ampen—shortened to “JJ”—open a small record shop in a dilapidated building on Parijsstraat; it quickly gains a reputation within the scene as being unconventional, independent, and underground. JJ Records is een historische documentaire film over de donkere jaren '80 en vroege jaren '90, de jaren van de hokjes en bijhorende looks, de jaren waarin een heel nieuwe scene ontstaat.
