Released in 2006, British filmmaker Stephen Frears' "The Queen" dramatizes the brief but intense conflict between Prime Minister Tony Blair and Elizabeth II in 1997, following the death of Princess Diana. Blending freedom of tone with documentary rigor, it offers a lesson in how fiction can serve historical truth.
